The City of Brantford experienced an impressive increase in the number of new industrial businesses in the community in 2011. This year saw 21 new businesses begin operation in the City, totalling 660,792 sq.ft. of newly constructed or leased spaced and creating 319 new jobs. This is an increase of eight companies over the total for all of 2010, and 13 over 2009.

These companies include 12 manufacturers, 4 warehousing/distribution facilities and 5 service/office operations. The number of employees per facility range from modest three person operations to a single larger employer with 50 people respectively.
