Downtowns
Downtown Brantford
Downtown Brantford is experiencing a renaissance. The growth of four post secondary institutions (Laurier Brantford, Nipissing University, Mohawk College and Conestoga College) are bringing many new faces and a fresh new perspective to the downtown. Harmony Square, with its summer splash pad and winter skating rink, is hosting new festivals and events in our community and bringing people into the Downtown core. Major projects planned include the redevelopment of the south side of Colborne Street, Colborne and Dalhousie Street infrastructure improvements, and a new Transit Terminal.
Downtown Brantford Market Analysis Project
The Downtown Market Analysis project was conducted in collaboration with the Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA), the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) and the City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department. The purpose of the project was to provide background information to assist in the creation of a business recruitment and retention strategy for downtown Brantford. Several reports came out of the project including survey information from businesses and residents, a trade area analysis and a business mix analysis.
