Garbage: Industrial Waste Removal

The City of Brantford owns and operates a sanitary landfill site for the disposal of solid and non-hazardous waste generated within the City limits. The municipality does not provide collection of garbage for industry, however contractors for the handling of waste are available within the City.

Tipping Fees

A tipping fee of $60.00/metric tonne is charged by the municipality for the disposal of non-hazardous solid waste at the Mohawk Street landfill. A tipping fee of $140/metric tonne is in effect for mixed loads of any of cardboard, wood or metal. Site remediation soils, which are acceptable at the landfill site, are $30.00/metric tonne. Concrete, brick, rubble and asphalt without contamination are $10.00/metric tonne.

County of Brant

Garbage: Industrial Waste Removal

The Biggars Lane Landfill is the disposal location for all of the waste collected by the municipality. The life expectancy of this landfill, based on current tonnage, is 15 years. The County does not provide collection of garbage for industry, however contractors for the handling of waste are available.

Tipping Fees

A tipping fee of $74.00(excluding pst+gst) per metric tonne is charged by the municipality for the disposal of non-hazardous solid waste at the Biggars Lane landfill. A minimum charge of $5.00 per load is in effect.
