Targeted training assistance for Six Nations Band Members: Wage subsidy of up to a maximum $8.00 per hour per person subject to employer's business plan.

Provides entrepreneurship training and business start-up loan guarantees for young people, aged 18-29 who want to start their own business.

Rural Economic Development (RED) Program
Grants to business projects which develop local economies through the creation of long term jobs, alliances, skill training, new technology and innovation. Pending business case, grants up to $500,000 have been awarded. The money must at least be matched by the applicant(s).

Advanced Manufacturing Investment Strategy (AMIS)
Encourage Ontario manufacturers to increase the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies and innovative practices which will grow and retain highly skilled employment in a range of sectors. Eligibility includes minimum $50 million investment or the creation/retention of at least 150 high value jobs.

Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit
Business reimbursed 25% eligible expenditures to qualified apprentices during first 36 months of training program paid or payable after May 2004 and before January 1, 2011. Maximum credit $5,000 per apprentice.

Ontario Innovation Tax Credit (OITC)
10% refundable tax credit for public or private corporations with permanent establishment in Ontario. Tax credit for scientific research and experimental development expenditures carried on in Ontario by the corporation. 10% tax credit for qualifying expenditures to a maximum of $2 million annually.

Internship Program with Innovative Small and Medium Enterprises
Financial assistance for S.M.E. with 500 employees or less who want to hire science/technology/business/liberal arts graduate. For an internship term of six months, IRAP will provide a maximum support of $12,000 to help cover a part of the intern's salary.

Industrial Research Assistance Program
Financial assistance ranging from $5,000 to $350,000 for a period of up to 36 months to assist S.M.E. in bringing new products, processes and services to market.

Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Program
Canadian controlled private corporations with less than $200,000 of taxable income can receive a refundable investment tax credit of up to 35% (enriched rate) for qualifying SR&ED expenses. An enriched refundable claim has a limit of $2 million. Other Canadian corporations, proprietorships, trusts can receive an investment tax credit of up to 20% for qualifying SR&ED expenditures.
